Middle eastern wrap
Saturday, November 29, 2008
My boyfriend and I were strolling in the Richmond this morning, we were looking for a lunch place and we found Troya.
On the window they advertise their “recommendation” from the Michelin and Zaggat reviews. I doesn’t hurt to try.
The place is nice, clean decor, not as cliché as most Middle Eastern places are. It was empty which is usually a sign that would have kept me out, but I realize that they have to compete with the hundreds of asian joints on clement street. That’s tough!
We ordered the turkish flatbread. It was nice and light, drizzled with a kalamata olive oil. I enjoyed it. A nice starter!
Then we order the lamb stuff dolmas. Those are served warm, lightly on the sweet side, it was also a good dish.
I ordered the lamb kebab wrap and my boyfriend the chicken. The meat was perfectly cooked, simple, mixed greens, tomatoes and grilled veggies inside. It’s perfect for lunch.
Summary: It’s a nice place for lunch, I will try it for dinner soon! The food was fresh, simple and well executed. It didn’t wowed me but it was good. Bill for 2: $40.63 (2 beer included, tip not included)
