Le soleil

It was on a rainy wednesday morning that we found Le Soleil. Finishing up our Christmas shopping the BF and I wanted to have a quick something to eat before heading back home.
I had been to Le Soleil before, so I recommend to grab something there. The place was a bit quiet but after all it was the middle of the week.
It was about 2 pm when we walked in and I was so hungry I didn’t need to read the menu, I know what I wanted.
We ordered the Imperial rolls. Nicely crisp, they are served with vermicelli noodles, salad, mint, shaved carrot and daikon and the nuoc man sauce. The noodles were thicker than usual and a bit sticky but it still was a good dish.
Then, we ordered the Vietnamese dumplings. Curiously crispy with a nice moist inside, this is an interesting dish but it’s not my favorite.
Then the BF ordered beef dish served over noodles. Sorry I can remember the name. He seemed to have enjoyed it.
I had the shrimp in coconut curry. The shrimp were nicely cooked, and the dish was loaded with still crunchy broccoli, I loved it. Simple, comforting and cheap!
Le Soleil is not in the category of grande gastronomy but it is good food and a good service. For the price it’s worth the detour for lunch or dinner.
Summary: I will recommend this place. I love the imperial rolls. I will go back to explore a bit more their dinner menu. The service was friendly and quick. Bill for 2: $45.30 (not including tip, but including 2 beers)
