Merry christmas!

I wanted to wish you all Merry Christmas.
Our Christmas dinner was highly inspired by the dinner we had the night before. Call it laziness, I call it when it’s good why not having it again!
It was just a dinner for 5 and I didn’t want to spend hours cooking nor shopping. It’s Christmas after all.
I pulled out a Foie Gras my dad had brought me from France. This was a Foie gras de canard entier (whole).
I just served it has a first course with crostini made with baguette toasted in the oven and served with Champagne.
The Lobster came form Lien Hing, I had 2 of them about 2 lbs each. I cooked them in salted water. They were really live and I had to put them in the freezer for a few minutes just to knock them out a bit. Those guys can get pretty wild and hard to invite in the boiling water, I am sure you can understand why! They took about 12 minutes each, though, a bit distracted by the guests I forgot to ice them after I pulled them out of the water. Usually it’s important to shock them in icy water to stop the cooking. I didn’t do that step and the tails got a bit over done. Ooooops! But it was still delicious.
The BF made a frito misto with onions and cauliflower. Dipped in butter milk and then in flower and deep fried until golden brown. We used a flower we bought in Spain, made especially for this, but regular flour will do.
Lemon and aioli.
A salad with a Banyul vinaigrette and that’s it.
This was plenty of food and a wonderfully simple dinner.
Bon Appétit!
