You can take the girl out of France but you can take France out the girl!
This is my all time favorite sandwich/lunch.
This is called a Jambon Beurre.
Fresh baguette (there is a lot of good place for French like baguette in town, so thrown away that thing you call bread!!)
Slice the piece of baguette in half, spread a bit of butter on each side, then put a couple of ham and a couple slice of Beaufort. And here you have it, garnish the plate with a couple cornichon and salad.
Note: If you can use French ham, though a bit more expensive it does taste better! A few store in San Francisco like Mollie stones and Say cheese, sell it. Ask for French ham or Madrange. Ask them to slice it as thin as can be. The thiner the better the taste, usually it looked more like it’s been shredded but don’t worry, this is not for presentation contest!
